Presenting the Concierge Team.

Hotel Concorde Concierge Team

Meet Michael and Martin, part of the “dream team” who work at our concierge desk (unfortunately, their colleague Sam was missing for the photo opportunity). I sat down with them recently to get to know them better and learn about some of the extraordinary things they do to ensure the utmost happiness of hotel guests.

So passionate about their careers, the trio has been working at the Hotel Concorde since it’s opening in 2005. They’re also part of the international organization Union Internationale des Concierges d`Hôtels ”Les Clefs dÒr” and the German based organisation “Die Goldenen Schlüssel e.V.”,  both of which strive to continually improve the concierge profession in general.

More importantly, Michael, Martin and Sam are experts on Berlin and specifically, the immediate area of Kurfürstendamm part of Berlin’s city west. Ask them anything and they can provide you with insider’s tips about the best places to go shopping, the top sites to see, the current cultural events and where to eat.

Maybe you think you have a tough request but are afraid to ask as it seems so outlandish. Perhaps you’re looking to score a dinner reservation at an exclusive Michelin starred restaurant at the last minute or get a ticket to a sold out performance of the Berlin Philharmonic. Simply ask and you may be surprised at how these guys could work their magic and get you that reservation or ticket.

Or how about a more complex situation? You arrive in Berlin on a late Sunday afternoon after a long transatlantic flight from the US and are dismayed to discover that your airline lost your luggage. When you get to the hotel, you discover that shops are closed on  Sundays and there’s no way you can buy an outfit in time for a conference you will be attending the next morning. Never fear, as this is something the concierge team can help you out with. Explain your dilemma and it’s pretty much guaranteed that you’ll soon be armed with an outfit, necessary cosmetic products and anything else you need for the next day.

The three of them also work behind the scenes preparing for big events like Berlinale or Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. They’ll call local restaurants and ask them to set aside reservations for hotel guests and they’ll even go so far as to stock extra cuff links and bow ties! They also answer emails and start helping guests well before they arrive for their hotel stay.

I told you that these guys are a “dream team”. The concierge desk is open seven days a week from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM so be sure to stop by and say hi!
